OILING SHUTTERS.
Few car owners think to lubricate the mechanical mechanism of the shutters of the built-in radiator covering. Failure to attend to this accounts for much of the trouble that is so often blamed on the thermostat. Any motorist who has used a hand-operated winter front knows that an appreciable amount of energy is required to operate these shutters against the spring that closes them. Vaseline is excellent for lubricating the shutters, because it does not run down the slats where it is not needed. A penetrating oil may be necessary, however, if the car has been without attention for a year or so. MaagßUMuiweg MMiiiriiwimrw»«MWMUßiHaßm
