IMPROVING CUP GREASE.
There are various parts on modem transport vehicles which are lubricated by grease contained in grease cup lubricators. In many cases the life and lubricating properties of this grease can be improved by small additions of powdered graphite. From 2 to 15 per cent, of powdered graphite can be usually added to grease. The method adopted is first to melt the grease in a shallow pan, and then to add the graphite. When this is completely mixed the mixture should be allowed to set. Some grades of graphite contain abrasive impurities, and should, of course, be avoided. ■wwiiwiwiii'm ii wm in'i'i 11 11 ■"i ''- nr ~ IJ -■>
