MR. AND MRS. W. S. WILSON. At the conclusion of the meeting of the Matamata A. and P. executive on Wednesday, Mr. R. W. Stevens took the opportunity to express the thanks of members for the good I work done by the president, Mr. W. S. Wilson, and to wish him and his wife, who shortly start on an- extended tour of Europe a pleasant voyage. Mr. Stevens stated that he did not think it was practicable to hold the annual meeting before Mr. Wilson. ‘ left on his world tour, so before he left he desired to express the keen appreciation of members of the work done for the society by Mr. Wilson. All recognised that the stewards and everyone connected with the show had worked with a hearty goodwill, but nevertheless it was readily recognised that Mr. Wilson was the man behind the gun, and it was no reflection on anyone to say that. ; ( Applause). He sincerely hoped that ; both he and Mrs. Wilson would Have : a very happy holiday and •on behalf of the executive he wished them bon voyage. (Loud applause). The secretary, Mr. ,F. Banks* endorsed these remarks, and stated that he owed a lot to Mr. Wilson and Mr. Young, who had come alonff night after night and assisted him. He v had gone to school with the president and being privileged simply told him he had to come and help. (Laughter). k In reply, Mr. Wilson stated he deeply appreciated the kind remarks made and the good wishes offered himself and his wife. He had only endeavoured, to do what he considered was his duty, and recognised that without having a willing band of workers behind him he could not have done much. They had done well, but he felt they could do better still, and he htiped to help to this end. (Loud applause). _
