Summer Touring Parties.

Members of the Okauia Social Club j are, undoubtedly finding much pleasure in the out-of-door entertainments which have been provided for the summer months. A party recently motored to Tauranga, where a most enjoyable day was spent. Luncll was provided by the ladies, after which a dip in the sea was indulged in. Arriving home in ' the best of spirits, everyone expressed the opinion that the outing had been a most successful one. Later, another party journeyed to Thames, leaving Okauia at 6 a.m. The day was occupied mostly in fishing and boating. Lunch was as usual provided by the ladies, the gentlemen adding a plentiful supply of cooked mussels, which were greatly appreciated. It was a tired and sunburnt but very happy party that returned to Okauia late in the evening, declaring that the outing had been an unqualified success. \ .

Hall Funds Party. Mesdames Spinley, Downs and McDonald gave a most successful tennis afternoon on Saturday, February 16, on the, court at Wairere House, in aid of the hall funds. There was a good number of members and friends present and some very good tennis was played. A most refreshing afternoon tea was served in the club’s hall,, after which tennis was resumed. Mr. Swanson has been on a visit to his daughter, Mrs. Story. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd and family, of Auckland, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. Brindle.

Mrs. Hunt, of Auckland, has been spending a few days- with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Story. Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Storey, accompanied by Mr. Swanson and his daughter (Mrs. Hunt), left by motor for Kawhia on Monday morning. Mrs. Matini, of Matangi, has been on a short visit to Mr. and Mrs. Garland, of the Crystal Springs.
