The nation’s annual bill for sodas, soft drinks, luncheons, and confectionery served over the soda fountains in the United States totals 1,500,000,000, dollars it was disclosed at the recent convention of soda fountain manufactures here. “Ice cicam sodas account for an expend, ture of approximately 500,000,000, dollars fountain luncheons for about 300,000,000, dollars annually, and confectioenry for 700,00,000, dollars,” declares a delegate. “There are approximately 100,000 soda fountains in the United States in which .their owners have 300,000,000 dollars invested. “In cities of 100,000 population and over, rpore than 78 per cent, of the soda fountains are now serving luncheons.”
