OLD PUPILS’ ASSOCIATION.

AN ENJOYABLE DANCE. Despite very adverse weather conditions the dance conducted by the social committee of the Matamata Old Pupils’ Association proved highly successful. The hall was crowded to overflowing ; nevertheless one of the most delightful evenings of the season was spent. The floor was in good condition, and splendid music was provided by Miss M. Pennell and Messrs. M. Pennell, C. Pennell, R. Collins and R. White. Mr. G. Fitzgerald was an efficient M.C. Extras were pi; J ed by Messrs. R. Vincent, Fussey and E. Hitchcock. The committee responsible for the success of the function consisted of Mrs. J. F. Wells, Misses K. Hope, J. Kilbride, Messrs. G. Rollett, T. Stanley and C. Banks. Among those present were : Misses V. Holland, brier rose georgette ; Kilbride, Argentine sunset taffeta ; Bates, midnight blue, armure ; Banks, peach Paris lace over satin ; Vosper, old rose pan velvet ; B. Bates, rust crepe de chine ; Campbell, almond green crepe de chine with coffee l&ce ; N. Vosper, black velvet and satin ; Mrs. Spence, floral crepe de chine ; Misses E. Hope, nile green crepe de chine, with autumn shade trimming ; Rollett, black chiffon velvet ; Brown, cream suitee ; Bell, emerald green crebe de chine ; Ellery, black taffeta with brick red'- flares in skirt ; Waite, blush pink crepe de chine with saxe blue shawl ; Egan, heliotrope georgette, moonbeam trimming ; Mathieson, rose satinette and gold trimming ; Geraghty, goblin blue georgette ; Mrs. Taylor, black j satin ; Misses Edwards, black georgette, transparent hem effect ; Furness, ivory satin and silver ribbons ; Lark, black silk with rose shoulder posy ; Vincent, coffee crepe de chine contrasted with bands of beige ; Schwartz, scarlet crepe de chine ; Oates, chenille spun silk; Pearson, lilac taffeta ; Hitchcock, apple green spun silk, embroidered ; Bryant, black pan velvet and scarlet posy ; Fussey, rose floral voile ; G.
