CROQUET.
A pleasing little ceremony took place at the Matamata Croquet Club's greens last Saturday, 1 when the president, Mrs. J. Buchanan, on behalf of the club, presented Mrs. H. Cleland with a beautiful salad bowl. Mrs. Cleland had been a foundation member of the club, and a good helper in every way. Her associates could not let her depart without some tangible expression of their appreciation of her good qualities as a member and friend.
Mrs. Cleland suitably replied.
