' Tho erection of a now school at Tokoroa is now well in hand, tho Irumowork having been orected and tho woathor boarding put on. Tho contract price for tho job is £OSO, and the work is boiug done by a local resident, Mr J. V, Johnson, The school is to bo comploted before the end of the Christmas vacation, ready for occupation at tho Loginning of tho next sohool year. It is understood that Mr Coulter, of the Mntarawa Laud Company, has boon ©looted chairman of the Tokoroa Dairy Company. The fortnightly dancos at Tokoroa continuo to be a success. Last month a matron’s ball was held thore, at whioh about 50 persons attended and had a very happy time. As befitted the function, a lady, Mrs Sloper, was ¥C.
