WARDVILLE.
A fairly well atte'nded meeting of Wardville settlers was held in the hall last week for the purpose of hearing an address by Mr L. H. McAlpine, organiser and secretary to the Thames Valley sub-provincial area. Mr J. Carroll, who was elected to the chair, introduced the sreaker. The latter explained the objects of the Farmers' union, and endeavored to show how the district would profit by the for main at! on of a branch. After considerable discussion a motion was proposed by Mr McAlpine, and seconded by Mr Costal], that a branch be formed. This was carried unanimously. The officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr J. Carroll; secretary, Mr H. Rintoul; advisory committee, Messrs O'Connor, Barker and Costal!; provincial and subdistrict [delegate, Mr J. Carroll. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to Mr McAlpine and the chairman.
