ARMED FORCES APPEAL BOARD

Sittings of the Armed Forces Appeal Board wore held at Glenorchy and Queenstown on Monday last. The members of the board were Messrs D. H. Cockburn, D. W. Stalker, D. J. Reed. Mr A. J. Peterson was the crown representative. Mr Reed occupied the chair in the absence of Mr E. H. Murney.

Release from Air Force was recoin mended in the appeal of M. H. Me Donald for Miss O. I. Lloyd, domestic

The appeal of N. I. Groves, farmhand, was adjourned to May 3.1, .1945 and the appeal of R. M. McNeilly, shepherd, adjourned till April 30, 1945. The following appeals were dismissed: The Director of National Service for D. G. Jardine, Primary Pro duction Council for I. D. Cowic (at 31st May), D. C. Jones for R. E. Jones (at 31st May), Tourist Depa (- ment for W. J. Summers G u 28th February).

The appeals by C. A. and Iv. McCormick for J. T. Sinclair, farmhand, Director of National Service for J. X. Lewis, farmhand, Director of National Service for .1. Beaton were adjourned sine die.

The acting chairman (Mr G. Reed) on behalf of the board and secretary thanked the District Primary Production Committee for the splendid work that they had done and the excellent manner in which they had presented the cases before the board. Mr T. E. Bryant represented the Glcnochy branch of the committee. The public sitting at Glenorchy was the first ever held in that district.
