,p-. i ANNUAL MEETING ! ' - ;■ J The annual meeting of the Queenstown volunteer fire brigade was held at the fire station on Tuesday, 24tb. ult, Superintendent W. H- Nelson occupied the chair and there was a good attendance of members present. His Worship the Mayor (Dr Anderson) was present by invitation. Minutes of last annual meeting were confirmed on the motion of Dep.-Supt. T. M. Davidson and Fireman T. L. i Hanrahan. j The secretary read the audited balI ancc sheet which showed the receipts |to be £34/11/6, including £5/3/3 brought forward from previous year, and the expenditure £3O/7/1, leaving a credit balance of £4/4/5 at the end of the present year. He also read a : lengthy report of the p-ctivities of the brigade for the year ended 31st January, 1942,' The report find balance sheet were adopted on the motion of Supt. \V, |J. Nelson ami Foreman W, H. Davidson. The election of officebearers resulted as follows;

Superintendent H. Xelson (reelected); pep.-Supprintendent T. M.

I Davidson (re-elected); Senior foreman, ' A. A. Tripp; junior foreman T. L. Hanj rahan; secretary and treasurer, T. If. 1 Tallentire; executive committee, otfij cers and firemen P. J. Chjilmerp and I \y. J. Sanders. 1 The Mayor returned thanks for the ■ brigade’s invitation to be present at the meeting. He spoke at length on the E.P.S. and congratulated the b r b gade on the improvement made daring ■ the past 12 months and extended his j thanks on behalf of the citizens of ■ Queenstown for the good work the brigade had done.
