CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS DANCE

There was a large attendance at the children’s fancy dress dance held <jn Friday evening last in the Athcneum Hall and the teachers are to be highly complimented for their untiring efforts, which was undoubtedly responsible for the success of the evening. There were 40 couples in the Grand March which was led off by Master Errol Johnston and Miss Laura Erridge. The children made a pretty picture in their many and varied costumes, Judging by the children’s happy faces they thoroughly enjoyed their night’s entertainment, which was completed by a delightful supper supplied by the ladies. Mrs W. J. Shaw played for the childrens dances. After supper the grown-ups took the floor and danced until the early hours of the morning. Dance music was supplied by Mesdames Jenkins and Reid and Messrs Goomes, Reid, Johnston and Henderson, Mr C. L. Johnston was M.C.
