The new vicar, Rev. D. Millar, with his 'wife and two children, wilt move into the 'Queenstown. Vicarage on Thursday, October the third. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Education, spent the week-end in Queenstown. Miss Wilkin of Dunedin, is the guesitj of her sister, Mrs A. Mackenzie, Mt. Nicholas Station. Mrs J. Sim of Dunedin is spending a short holiday in Queenstown. She is the guest of Mrs B. Curtis Miss Eva Curtis, who has been visiting Dunedin, has returned home. Miss W. Mulholliand spent a few days in Dunedin last week. Mrs John Mackenzie, Walter Peak, returned home at the week-end after spending some weeks in Dunedin. Mr and Mrs Mart in-Smith returned at the week-end from a visit to Akaroa and Christchurch. Miss 11. Campbell. Invercargill, has been on holiday In Queenstown. Miss Leary, accompanied by Mrs F. Webb, .went to Invercargill on Friday. Mr A. Simsou has returned to Queenstown. Me was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs J. Day, Nelson .

Mr S. Knowles returned to_ Glen>rohy yesterday after spending a holiday’ in Dunedin and Southland. Mrs C Lobb and her son, John, Inveiearglll, have been on a visit to her sister-in-law, Mrs W. Hales. Miss M. Salmond, returned to Dunedin yesterday after spending a few days with her parents. Mr and Mrs Alex Bums left yesterdav on annual leave. Miss M. McLeely lias pone to Dunedin for her holidays. Miss M. O’Connell, Palmerston, is on extended holiday to her father Mi J. E. O’Connell. Mr E. McDowall who lias had a a tailoring business in Queenstown for the last two years has left to take a position as cutter with a Dunedin firm.

Dr Eipon, medical officer .Education Dept. Dunedin, visited the Queeintstown schools during the week. She also inspected the Glcnorchy school at the week-end. Miss Uniac of the Education Dept. Dunedin, accompanied Dr Eipon. During the annual meeting of me Eailwav Cricket Club hist week, opportuiuty was tokfcu to present Mar G. Seymour, tine Club’a secret ciry. with a smokers’ outfit from the Club members. Mr E. McSoriley, in making the presentation, referred to tire yaluable services rendered to the Club by Mr Seymour since its inception and said that the Club’s present good, position was due mainly to Ms untiring efforts . Mr Seymour suitably replied 'The funeral'of the late Miss Barbara Kerr took place on Friday last and was attended by la large number of deceased’s friends. A short service in S't. Andrews Church preceded the procession to the local cemetery . The coffin was covered with numerous floral tributes, testifying to the love and esteem in which deceased was held. The last rites were conducted by Eev. D. K. Boyd.
