OBITUARY.

MR JOHN FRANCIS DENNISON Quite a gloom was cast over Arrowtown and district on Wednesday morning last when it became known that Mr John F. Dennison, a popular resident of Grown Terrace, had passed away at the Cromwell hospital after a short illness.. Deceased had been operated on for apendicitis ton days before his death, and although the operation appeared to be succesisful, complications, arose which caused death. The late Mr Dennison was only 31 years of age, and was born at Hawea, being the second son of the late Mr and Mrs John F. Dennison. .Since 1931 he had been engaged in fanning pt Crown Terrace on a farm leased from his mother-in-law, Mrsi E. Dennison, Arrowtown. Of a bright, and cheery disposition, deceased was popular with all who knew him. He was a. member of the Crown Terrace. School Committee and was a keen footballer, being a member of the Arrow-town senior team for several years .He also represented Lake County on several occasions. Being a good sport, he was very popular with district footballers, on and on and off the field of play. He is survived by his widow and a family of four young children, and they will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends. Deceased is also survived by three brothers—James, Donald, and William Dennison. Arrowtown. The funeral took place at Arrowtown on Thursday afternoon, and was very jargely attended, friends, being, present from all parts bf the district and from as far afield as Invercargill, Hawea, and Lowburn, to pay the last tribute of respect. The services at St. John’s Presbyterian Church and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev Iv. Lan Clameron. The pall-bearers, were Messrs A. V. Miller, M. Jenkins, James O’Foe, J, W. Stevenson. D. R- Mackie, and Duncan Anderson. The Large number of wreaths-, including one from the Arrow Football Club, placed on. the grave indicated the esteem in which deceased was held.
