“OLD HUTCH.” SHOWING NEXT SATURDAY. Wallace Beery plays one of his most human roles in the new Metro--Goldwyn-Mayor story, ‘ Old Hutch, to be screened on Saturday evening next. , Filmed in the co’ourful farm country of Santa Cruz, ‘‘Old Hutch,” deals with a man who hadn t worked for twenty years because of back trouble.” While fishing one day he accidentally stumbles upon a box of hidden loot, £25,000 in all. Obviously, a man who seldom has tobacco money, cannot attempt to spend important money. And so “Old Hutch” goes to work on a farm in order to make his fellow townsmen believe that he is saving his cash. In that way, he figures, he may sooner or later try to cash one of those precious bills. When he finally discovers that it is stolen money and that he can capture the criminals if he can summon the courage, Beery gives a perfermance that tops anything in his raveer of popular roles. There is a strong love interest in the parts played by Eric Linden and Cecilia Parker. Also featured in •the supporting cast are Robert McWade, Caroline Perkins, Julia Perkins, and Elizabeth Patterson.
