The final goal, which gave this match to Arrowtown, was scored just on the call of time. Miss D. Harris refereed.

ROVERS 23 v. ARROWTOWN 9. In this match Arrowtown showed a somewhat surprising burst of speed and for the first ten minutes scoring was even. The passing of both teams

was not as accurate as it could have been, there being a lot of fumbling in the forward thirds. At half -time the score was 7—5 in favour of Hovers. Play improved in the second ha’f, Hovers’ forwards combining well and adding several goals in quick succession. The final score was 23—9 in Hovers favour. Mrs Douglas refereed.

NOTES. At the conclusion of the Gardiner Cup competition it is hoped that local clubs will co-operate to make the proposed Yankee Tournament a success. Glenorchy Basketball Club, which is debarred from the yearly cup competition owing to the heavy expense

of travelling, will receive an invitation to be present at this tourney and arrangements will be 'made for the necessary billeting. As this club lias never participated in a tourney, full particulars will be published in this paper at a later date.

Rovers A, with -still one match to play, have sufficient cup points to

ensure them the Gardiner Cup for tinyear 1937.
