PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL.
An enjoyable social, under the auspices of the local branch of the p W.M.U., was held in the Mackenzie Hall, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, last Wednesday evening. 1 The gathering was presided over by the Rev. D. K. Boyd, who welcomed the guests in appropriate terms.
An attractive programme of musical items, games, competitions and charades Avas presented. The entertainers who took part were as Tolknys: — Pianoforte solo, “Bustle of Spring,” Mrs Buncombe; contralto solo, “I love a little cottage,” Miss Jean Moffat. Dialogue from “Christina,” (by J. J. Bell): Christina, Mrs A. Tripp; the aunt, Mrs Mclntyre. Charades, Mesdames H. and W. Davies, L. Lindsay, \V. Hore, A. Tripp, and Mclntyre, Messrs W. Mclnnes, E. Ingles, .W. Hore and W. Davies, also a number of schoolboys. Much amusement was caused by the old-fashioned garments worn by several of the performers, some of the frocks being about seventy years old. “ A delicious supper was served and a happy evening Avas brought to a close Avith the singing of “AuldLang Syne.”
