Stronach, Morris and Co., Ltd., report for week ending Thursday, 22nd July, 1937: Fat Cattle. —There were 387 fat cattle forward for yesterday’s market, the quality generally being the best that has been yarded for some time, there being several trucks of extra prime quality bullocks and heifers on offer. On the average the market can be quoted easier from 15s to £1 per head for all vprime quality bullocks with cows and heifers on a par to a shade easier than last week’s rates; this class not suffering to the same extent as the bullocks. Extra prime heavy bullocks to £l6 7s Gd, prime heavy £l3 L2s 6d to £ls 2s 6d, medium £lO 12.s 6d to £l2 l'2iS Gd, light from £7 12s 6d, extra prime show heifers to £l2 7s Gd, prime heavy to £ll 12s Gd, medium £7 12s Gd to £8 17s Gd, light down to £5 17s Gd, extra prime heavy cows to £lO 17s Gd, medium £7 12s Gd to £8 17s Gd, light down to £5 12s Gd.

Fab Sheep. —-There was a full yarding' of fat sheep forward, there being approximately 1800 penned. The quality generally was fair and the market on the average can be quoted at 2s 6d -easier for prime sheep and medium and Light sheep 2s Gd to to 3s 6d easier on last sale's- rates. Extra prime heavy wethers to 48s 9d, prime heavy 40s to 435, imedium 35s to 37s (id, light down to 28s, extra prime young ewes 38s Gd, extra prime heavy to 35s Gd, prime heavy 31s to 33s Od, medium 2Gs to 20s-Gd, light down to 21s. Fat Pigs.—There was a medium entry of fat pigs and these met with keen competition, prices being firm at late ruling rates.

Store Pigs—There was a small entry of store pigs, only 2fi being for ward. Good stores met with keen enquiry, the best selling for 20s.

Oats. The market remains firm and there is a good enquiry for Gartons suitable for milling purposes which are bringing up to 3s 4d on trucks country sidings. Wheat—Millers will take any lines

suitable at full schedule rates. Good whole fowl wheat meets with fair inquiry at up to 5s Gd ox store’, Dunedin.

Potatoes.—Eair consignments are coming to hand and there is a good inquiry for prime tables, Arran Chiefs bringing up to £6 15s and King Edwards £7 15s ex store, Dunedin.

Chaff.—Sufficient is coming forward to meet the local inquiry and prime bright oaten sheaf is bringing up to £5 IDs, ex store, Dunedin.

Rabbitskins.—We held our usual rabhitsikin sale on Tuesday and offered a fairly large catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Owing to the better reports from overseas, there was keen competition, more especially for winter and outgoing does which showed an advance of Gd to Is par lb on la,s(t sale’s rates.
