Stronacb, Morris and Co., Ltd., report for week ending Thursday, 21st April, 1932, as follows: — Fat Cattle. —There was a fair sized entry, 223 being forward. As a number of the butchers had purchased supplies the previous week to carry Zthetn over, competition was slack and prices showed no improvement on last sale’s rates. Extra prime heavy bullocks to £ll 17,s fid, prime £7 10s to £9, medium £5 15s to £7, cows and heifers £4 10 s to £5 7is fid, light from £3 upwards. Fat Sheep.—There was a large entry, 2,943 being forward. These included a number of pens of prime heavy ewes and wethers, with the usual proportion of freezing sorts. Prices for heavy weight sheep were easier by Is fid to 2s per head on last sale’s rates, freezing weights being on a par. Extra prime wethers 17s fid to 19s, prime 13s fid to IGs, medium 11s fid to 13s, extra prime heavy ewes llis to 13s 9cl, prime 8s fill to 10s fid, 'medium 6s to Bs. Fat Lambs. —-There was a medium entry. Competition was keen for prime, lambs and prices were firm at late rates. Extra prime heavy lambs to 23s fid, prime 15s fid to 18s, medium 12s fid to 14s, light 10s to 12s. Pigs—There was a small entry of fat pigs and prices were a shade firmer. Store pigs sold on a par with late ruling rates. Oats.—The market is firm and A grade gartons are bringing up to 3s on trucks country sidings, Wheat. —A few samples have come to hand from Otago Central, and millers are taking any of these lines „at full schedule rates. Tuscan 4s 84d, Hunters 4s 10|d, Velvet 5s f.o.b, Dunedin. Potatoes. —Sufficient requirements are coming forward to meet the local enquiry, and prime tables are bringing up to £4 lbs ex store, Dunedin. Chaff. —Consignments have been on the light side and prime bright oaten sheaf is bringing up to £4 10s. ex store. Sheepskins—We held our usual fortnightly sheepskin sale on Tuesday and offered a medium sized catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was keen at low prices though there was very little improvement in the market. Halfbred full-wools to 4fd, half wools to 3id, quarter wools to 2|d, fine crossbred full wools to 3id, half wools to 2yd, quarter wools to '2d, (cross-bred full wools to 2|d, half wools to 24-d, quarter wools to l|d, half-bred hoggets to 2yd, best pelts Id to 1-kD, inferior from id upwards; dead and damaged half-bred to 3|d, dead and damaged cross-bred to 1 Ad.
