ARROW ROD AND GUN CLUB.

The annual meeting of members of the Arrow llod and Gun Club Avas held in the Club rooms, Arrow toAvn, on Thursday evening, 29th ult. Present: Messrs W .H. James (president), T. Kinross ,W. Kinross, T. Scott, Ray Scott, and T. Johnston jbou. secretary). The folloAving office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr W. H. James (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs J. H. Douglas and J. J- O’Kaue; secretary and treasurer, Mr T. Johnston (re-elected); committee, Messrs T. and W. Kinross, T. and R. Scott, J. H. Douglas, and A. Errldge. It Avas decided that the Lakes District Acclimatisation Society’s Cup be competed for under the same rules as last year; the first competition to be held on Wednesday evening, December IG, commencing at 6 o’clock and weighing-in at 10.30. The dates of the succeeding competitions Avi.l be fixed later. It Avas also decided that the value of the prizes in the Cup competition be reduced from £1 Is to 10s (id. The President stated that at the last meeting of the Lakes District Acclimatisation Society it had been decided to place 200,000 sea-run fry in Lake Hayes this season. The Society Avould also liberate 100,000 fry in the Kawarau River at the Falls, 5000 in Butel’s dam, and 5000 in Dooiau’s Creek. In addition to other allocations, the Lakes Society Avas liberating 50,000 fry in Lake Wanaka.

At the conclusion of the business, die Lakes District Acclimatisation Society’s Cup was presented to Mr W. H. James, who holds the cup for the season. Mr James was also presented with a miniature cup. The presentations were made by Mr T. Scott, who congratulated Mr James on his success.
