Mr W. Bowler, of Alexandra, was a visitor to Arrowtown on Saturday last.
The death occurred at Gore on Wednesday last of Mr Malcolm Me Leod, who was many years ago stationed at Pembroke as a stock inspector. For the past twenty years he had been in business in Gore as an auctioneer and station agent. He was 63 years of age, and leaves a widow and family of two sons and two daughters.
Nurse Mary Warring of the Southland Hospital staff, is spending her annual holidays with her parents at Lake Hayes. Mr and Mrs Thomas Lonsdale left Arrowtown this moriimg for Matakanui, where Mr Lonsdale is engaged on survey work for the Public Works Department.
Mr A. Stewart, instructor u: Agriculture, Alexandra, visited Arrow town on Saturday last on 'departmental business.
Mr Rod. Berney, of the local Public Works staff, has been transferred to the railway construction works at Parnassus, Mr Berney left Arrowtown yesterday morning.
