PERSONAL.
Mr and Mrs Dunlay, of Roxburgh, paid a visit to Arrowtown on Friday. Mr Leo Lee, County chairman, paid a short visit to Dunedin last week. Constable O’Shea and family left for Otautau on Wednesday morning last.
Mr Norman Mcßride, of Timaru, is on a visit to his grandparents, Mr and Mrs John Jenkins, Crown Terrace. Constable A. D. Pearce, who succeeds Constable O'Shea in charge of the Arrowtown police district, arrived from Balclutha on Thursday, and has taken up his duties. Miss A. Reid (The Mill) went to Invercargill last week for the Royal Show.
The death occurred at Christchurch recently of Mr Edward Cron, a former resident of the Wan aka and Haast disitricts. The engagement is announced of Miss Emily Elizabeth Dowler, third daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Dowler, Lady Barkly, Southland , to Frederick Robert Randall Cullimore, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F. Cullimore, Oamaru. Mr Thomas Kinross and Miss Kinross Gibbston, were amongst the district, visitors to the Royal Show.
