Stir,—-On. going to the Civic Reception giveatoour honoured guest, the Governor-General of New Zealand, I was surprised to see no 0001101110113 on the platform with his Worship the Mayor. Now, surely there is something! wrong 1 . Is this town worked by a one man Council, or is there. ia representative one ? I have travelled the work! a good bit and seen many civic receptions, but never before have I seen such as I saw on the night of the 21st Lost. There was not even, a little music. I think irt is high time the people of Queenstown woke, up to the fact that instead of progressingl they are getting further i behind the times. Now I know a ' few of the members of tlie Council and one in particular who has tod a good deal of experience (in matters of this kind, yet he let a thing like this slip.
