Learn restraint in dress. 8. Understand the value oi simplicity. 9. And dress, to be interesting. 10. It is better to have one good well-made dress than hall a dozen mediocre gowns. Those are the ten dress commandments which are endorsed by Lady I Duil’-Gordon, but she adds a word oi i warning regarding No. o, which she 1 declares is rather dangerous to broadcast. “Being different,” might lead to terrible combinations of design and color, by those who have' no sense »1 color or line or of fitting the occasion with the gown. Hut without going very far wrong and from the straight path of the present uniform that is worn bv rich and poor alike, yon can lie “different” in your little adjuncts. Once upon a time a great “ dillerent ” could he obtained in the way the hair was arranged, but to-day that “difference” can be ruled out with this everlasting sameness of bobbed and shingled and cropping of hideousnesses. Yon must put your personality and thought into “being different.” Just beware not to be ridiculous; that is the main tiling.
