WEDDING BELLS.

COUPAR—DOWNEY. A quiet wedding took place at the local Presbyterian manse last Wednesday evening when Miss Violet Downey, eldest daughter of Mrs and the late Wm. Downey was married to Mr Stewart Coupar of Bluff, and at present a member of the local Steamer Service. The bride, who was given away by Mr Burfcenshaw, wore a white silk frock with hat to match. She was attended by two bridesmaids—her sister. Miss Ivy Downey, wearing a blue crepe de chine dress with hat to match, and Miss M. Philp being frocked in striped fuji silk. Another sister, Miss Ida Downey, who acted as flower girl, wore white silk. After the ceremony the bridal party motored to the residence of the bride’s mother where the attendant celebrations took place. . ,
