ENGAGEMENT IN PALESTINE. ■ TURKS HEAVILY DEFEATED. London, March 29. Egypt official: Wo advanced 15 miles from Kafa to Wady Ghuzzeh, fivo miles southward of Gaza, for the purpose of covering the construction of our railway. We heavily engaged a force of 20,UUU of the enemy in this neighbourhood on Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday we inflicted heavy "Josses, and took 9UO prisoners inthe general commanding and the ,«taff of the 53rd Turkish Division. Four Austrian officers were captured, and two Austrian howitzers. All our troops behaved splendidly especially the Welsh, Kent, Sussex, Here-, ford, Middlesex, ;iud Surrey Regiments', and the Anzac Mounteds and the Yeomanry.
