In addition to the above all the lady folk in the district took part, in some way by bringing a basket' for supper or articles for the stalls, or both, and the-secretaries wish to publicly thank all those residents who so generously assisted in making the function such a success. "When it is pointed out that the adult population ol the Head of the Lake is under one hundred the magnificent result of over £l5O speaks for itself. Mr Young informs mo that the collectors were invariably met with every courtesy and that the number of refusals could be oounted on the fingers

It, is the intention of the Executive to hold the monies in trust until such time as it is ascertained whether there will be a Dominion Fund or another fund from which the Wakaapu wounded will benefit.
