Military Ball at Arrowtown.

Friday night in Arrowtown found the Garrison Hall a scene of festivity, the occasion being the annual ball promoted by the Wakatipu Mounted Bifie Corps. There was a large attendance, most of the outside district being well represented. The building was tastefully decorated with dags and evergreens, so that, combined vith the bright, pretty dresses of the ladies and the dress uniforms of tbe volunteers, the room presented a brilliant appearance. Trooper Ward, the corps' M.C., directed some 60 couples through the the twinings of the Grand Mareh, which was led off by Mrs J. B. Thomson and Capt. Camming. A Queenstown party V. Firth (piano), F. St. Omer junr., (cornet) and H. Hillman (violin) provided the music, which proved to be all that was desirable. The supper, which as usual was quite a feature of the occasion, was supplied by the wives, sisters and friends of the troopers. Dancing was kept up till about 4.30.
