A LACK OF LIONS.

I Mr. Winston Churchill does not en- | joy his father's luck in lions. When Lord Randolph Churchill was at Nairobi he spent a livelong night watching no fewer than five lions and lionesses disport themselves under the tree in which he was resting. But Mr. Winston Churchill travelled all the way from Nairobi to Fort Hall, and from Fort Hall to Embu without getting a single lion. It is no wonder that when he got there he feelingly impressed on the impressionable minds of the chiefs of the ICiambu and Waki-kuyu the advantages of earning wages and improving their stock. But though, he has had this poor luck with lions,"lir. Churchill has had excellent luck with Malta. At the meeting of the Council of Government on Friday the elected and nominated members of it showed quite a new cordiality to one another and the elected members a new desire to assist in the work ofiadministration in the spirit called for by Mr. Winston Churchill during his, recent visit. This is better than sticking to St. Stephen's.
