FOOTBALL

BEMABKABLES V. ABBOW.

The second flag match of the season took place at Arrowtown on Wednesday last, 13th inst., when the above teams met. There was a fair attendance of the public. The game was fast, the teams evenly matched and a drawn game—six points all —was the result. For Arrow, Allan, who played the best game on the ground, scored a try and also kicked a penalty goal from a difficult angle. For Bemarkables, F. Mcßride and A. Mcßride scored tries, neither being converted, Dr Thomson refereed impartially, giving satisfaction alike to players and public. It is to be hoped that this gentleman will give the footballers of the district his services in future matches this year. To-morrow Arrow meet Queenstown on the local ground when another closely contested game should result.
