THE PROPOSED TENNIS COURTS IN THE PARK.

TO THS EDITOR, L.W.M. Sir, —What has become of the above project? Some months ago, I underataud, it was about to be an accomplished fact. Why the long sileDce about the matter. I fear it ia being allowed to go the way of many of its ljcal predecessors, a state of things peculiar to Queenstown, un'ortunatsly. It seems to me all the matter wants is that it should be urged on tho Tourist Department. Trusting, Sir, that you will do what you can to push the matter ahead.—l am, etc., Disgusted. [We understand that a site above the bowling green was chosen for tennit courts some time ago. When Sir J. G. Ward \riaited Queenstown last December the site was altered at his suggestion to a position at the other end of the green. Tenders have been called for both theie sites at different times. and s tender for the Utter was under consideration when, through the medium of Mr T. E. Donne, Tourist Superintendent, who gave way to the claims of a deputation from the Bowling Club and others, the proposed location of the courts was again altered to the original site. Enquiries made from the representative of the Tourist Department, Queenstovin, show that the matter has not been lost sight of and more will be heard of it at an early date.—Ed. L.W.M.]
