FROM OCR OWK CORRESPONDENT. Dunedin, this day. Mrs Ramsay, a lady residing in the Western district of Southland died under chloroform in an Invercargill dentist's surgery on Wednesday. The chloroform was administered by a medical man. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death, with no blame attachable to anyone was returned. Fifty one weddings took place in Dunedin between the 18th and 31st of December. This constitutes a record. A child, aged three, was lost for three nights in the George Street Botanical Gardens but has since turned up safely. THREATENING OUTLOOK. AFGHAN FRONTIER AGAIN. TROUBLE IN OHINA A party of French marines landed ill South China and attacked 1500 Chinese, killing 200 as punishment for murder of French officers lately. Trouble is likely to follow.
