LAWN TENNIS CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the Queenstown Lawn Tennis Club was held ill the County Council rooms on 23rd September, 1899. , , Present—Mesdames Hal'iwell and Blacic, Misses Gudgeon, Reid, Geisow and Douqi is ; Messrs Porter, (chairman) M'Carthy and Wyman. Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The balance-sheet, which showed a small credit balance, was read and adopted, on the motion of Mr B. H. Wyman and Mrs Hulliwell. Office-Viearer3 were then elected as follows :—President —Dr Douglas ; vice-presi-dent—Mrs Halliwell : committee —Misses G. Geisow, I. Keith, Mr E. C. W. Porter ; secretary, and treasurer —Mr B. H. Vi yp.mn. It was resolved, on the motir.n of Mr Porter and Miss Reid—That the annual subscription be as follows: —Ladies 2< Gd, gentlemen 5s (no entrance fee) ; a further subscription of Is to be levied later on if found necessary. For tourists the amount wae fixed —for one week or under, '2s Gd, and two weeks or over ss. Opening day was fixed for Saturday. October 14th, weather permitting. The secretary was requested to have the court, etc., put in L'ood order. A hearty vote of thanks v. as a.'COfded to the outuoing secretary and treasurer, Mioses Reid and Douglas, for the very praisewoi thy manner in which they had performed all duties. The usual courtesy to the chair closed the meeting.
