Inoculation for Snakebite.
The immunity of Indian snake-,ha rmers from the elf. ets of u,.. v.-no M ,ous bites of their captives has always be -n a subject about which eon. id-rahle diversity of opinion has existed. That th-se men were really un iffeoted by t.he poison e\-1 n of cobras tli-i'*- seems in many cases no reason 'to doubt. Much attention has been lately given to th- -1 suhj'ct in Tndia. where a series of very interesting experiments have been carried out. wtiich tend to show that immunity from snakebites may he artificially produced by the introduction in gradually increasing doses of the venom into thf sysitem by inoculation.
