Wakatipu District Hospital.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above-nam-ed institution was held on Saturday, when there were present Messrs E. T. Wing (Chairman) J. Black, J. H. Evans, J. Fox, P. W. F. Geisow, A. P. Green, T. Hicks, and F. St. Omer.

Minutes of previous ordinary and special meetings were read and Confirmed.

This being the first meeting of the new members Mr E. T. Wing was re-elected chairman, on the motion of Messrs Green and St Omer. The Chairman returned thanks for the honor done him, but he Would rather have seen another member elected. However, he would do his best. During his previous terra they had always worked very harmoniously together and he had no doubt they would continue to do so.

With regard to books it was resolved that the secretary be authorised to procure all record books required. The Chairman and Messrs Geisow and Green were appointed a finance committee. Sundry accounts were brought up and passed for payment.

The Secretary reported that the credit balance of the Board was about £IOO including subsidy due. With regard to the special business, in connection with steps advisable to take owing to destruction of the Fraukton Hospital, the Chairman stated what transpired in an interview with Dr M'Gregor, luspector-General of Hospitals, during his recent flying visit to this district, the latter expressing an opiuion that the Arrow Hospital was sufficient with additions, for the whole district.

Mr Evans doubted whether Dr M'Gregor's opiuion was needed on such a matter.

Mr Turton, who had gone iuto the matter, explained the legal position of the Board. After discussion it was resolved, on the motion of Messrs Geisow and Fox—That, under the circumstances, the Frankton Hospital be re-built on the old site.

Resolved, on the motion of Messrs Black and St. Omer, that Mr Wales be consulted with regard to suitable plans for such building. Also that money received for insurance, be placed in the bank in certain sums on deposit nntil required.

The question of a water supply for the hospital was discussed, Mr Black stating that he believed, for about £3OO, a good water supply of some 400 ft pressure could be obtained by laying piping from Scheib's Creek. It was stated that a supply from creek used by Mr Evans would not give sufficient pressure.

It was resolved that Mr Black be requested to make enquiries and to bring up report on the subject.

A hearty vote of thanks was recorded to Mr Ttirton for his advice and explanation of the position of the trustees.
