BIRDS OF A FEATHER TO THE EDITOR, LAKE WAKATIP MATL. Sir, —The other day I received some chops from my butcher whi<h were wrapped in an old copy of the CromvxU Ar<ju*. My attention wasarnsted by a paragraph it contained wherein it styles the writer of a recent letter in yo ir paper who signed himself "On-luoker" as ''The Champion meiu man in Qui-enctown " I was puzzled for a short time to know »In the editor of that paper should have troubled himself about the matter. I therefore bet an to make a few enquires, and it was not long before I -olved the problem, and found out the reason why the proprietor ami editor of the (ronmll Argun should have such sympathy for the Mayor of Queenstowii. Now for the r-ason. The editor and proprietor of the Cromwell Argun is also the Mayor of t lomwell, and during his term of offire—lam i eliably informed lie has a contract for doing that Corporation's advertising and printing for the sum of per annum. In conclusion I leave the question as to who is the mean man to the public. Whether is it" Onlooker " who simply drew their attention to the Mayor of Q alleged t'» '-e sitting i!le-;a!ly on the Licensing Bench, or the Mayor of Cromwell, reputed editor and proprietor of the Cromwell Argus.
