LONGEVITY IN THE SOCIETY OF FRIENDS.
The obituary of the Society of Friends for the past year for G-reat Britain and Ireland shows some striking: instanced of longevity. In all, the dea*hs of 317 persons are record- ! ed—l6o males and 157 female*. The | infantile mortality is verj slight—the ; number of deaths of children under one year being 13 and of those between one and five years 11. O e per--1 sons from five to 10 years there were t-even deaths. and 10 to 15 years four | deaths ody in the year. The deaths slowly increased with the decades following but not until that from 50 |to 60 is reached the number over 20 . for the decade named, the actual number being 22 But from 60 to 70 years there were no fewer than 51 deaths; from 70 to 80 years the number was 72. there being 31 males and 41 females. The deaths at the age ( of from 8C to 90 years were as many as 61. And of deaths of persons between 90 and IQO years of kge there were eight, of whom three were males and five females Oae of the latter eight was 92, two tfere each 93,. another 91; whilst most of the remainder had turned the 90th year.
