Wakatipu District Hospital.

The ordinary monthly Committee meeting of above institution was held at the Hospital, Frankton, on Saturday last, when there were present:—Messrs C. C. Boyes (president), H. M. Adair, L. de Baer, J. O'Kane, G. M. Ross, W. Warren and H. K. Firth (secretary). Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Outward and inward correspondence was read. The report of the resident surgeon, Dr Douglas, showed that, during the past month, 10 patients had been admitted and 7 discharged (9 cured and 1 improved). In consequence of J. Coleman and wife having been unable to accept appointment as wardsman and matron, it was resolved, on the motion of Messrs Ross and Adair, that Arthur H. Layton's application for himself and wife be forwarded to Mr A. Bartleman, Dunedin, for enquiry as to their suitability, and also to see Mr B. Halleustein, one of Lawton's references.

Some discussion took place as to the advisability of endeavoring to get the new administrative block completed, as the preseut portion was useless without a further addition. It was ultimately decided that the Secretary be ordered to both wire and write to T. Fergus, Esq., M.H.R., Occidental Hotel, Wellington, asking hiin to urge on Government the necessity of completing at once the administrative block of buildings for the Wakatipu District Hospital, as approvoi by Dr Grabham. and recommended by him to the (iovarnmpiit. Accounts to the amount of £7' i 14s. 10d. were brought up and passed for payment.
