According to an English paper the death of the second Lord Brougham at the extreme old age of 91 wiil relieve the Pension List of a considerable charge. He wan formerly a Master in Chancery, and when the office was abolished in 1852 was compensated by a full pension for life. This was £3225 a year, so that the total amount paid to him by the country haw bson £103,1300.
