THE QUEENSTOWN READING ROOM.
(TO THE EDITOR OF THE LAKE WAKATir MAIL.) Sip.,—Now that the County Council Ofiice is removed from the Heading Room of the Library, the Committee of the latter would do well to devote its use in future to what it was intended—and not from that narrow point of view, satisfied with a small nominal rent of same, ignoring the very fact that the want of this room is keeping back a score or two of subscribers, and perhaps hundreds of readers. Of an eveuiug there is not a single place to go to either of the inhabitants of the town, or the many who may pay it a visit. There are gentlemen on the Committee who have the morale of the people at heart, and it is to be trusted that they will endeavor to thwart any intention to let.—l am, etc., O-NH of Tex who desires to become a Subscriber.
