It will be noticed bv advertisement that a meeting of members of the Jockev Club is called for Monday evening, at Powell's Hotel, to arrange programme and date of meeting. We believe Messrs Malaghan and Powell collected some £SO towards the races while in Dunedin lately, and it is every desirable—if races are to •be held this summer —to lose no time in making definite arrangements, as it is said that a number of owners of horses, which lately performed at Invercargill and Tapanui are waiting to see what programme will be published. A great deal of scandal is said to have been occasioned in Melbourne by a clergyman having kissed all the pretty girls of his congregation with what he appears to terjn as the " holy kiss of love."
