The annul meeting of this body was held in the Friendly bocietiea' Hall on the 31ft, t).C. EL Bro. Jno. Wilson in the chair. Delegates were present from Courts Pride of Dunedin, Enterprise, Robin Hood, Pride of the Leith, and Bruce. . . The report submitted by the retiring officers, with the customed balance sheet, were submitted and adopted. Fran the former we make the following extract:— We have to congratulate you on the con tinued prosperity or the U.0.D., which now comprises eighteen Courts and about 900 financial members, with Court funds amounting to L 3.385 (as shown by the returns of fourteen Courts received this quarter), being an increase for the year of one Court, sixty-one financial members, and L 630. A dispensation has been granted for another new Court to be opened early next month. The last ststirtirsl returns show Forestry to be rapidly extending throughout the world. The increase for the year ending December. 1872, being—seven districts, ninety-two courts, 25,744 financial, 613 honorary members, and L 15,313 to court hinds; the total number of financial members in the Older being 421,988, with a reserve fund o£ L 1,696,981. From the auditor's report, wa make this extract We have much pleasure m congratulating you on the steady increase both of numbere and funds dui in? the quarter. The number of new members made during the quarter was fortynine, as against nineteen withdrawn, leaving n w.l.mv of thirty. The fund of the district shows a gain of L 57 ©s Id—that is to say: Incidental, L 22 lis Id; Belief Fund, Ll7 7s > General Fund, Ll7s 2s—which is highly gratifying, considering that four Courts have sent no returns or balance-sheets. We would call your attention to Courts Star of Dunstan, Star of Cromwell, Court Molvneux, and Pride of Maerewbenna having sent no returns ; and to Court Pride of the Lake, LIOO of their funds not having been clearly accounted for. Court I Pride of Oamaru have only L 8 Gs 8d of n general fund. The election of office-bearers resulted aa followsD.C.K., Bra Asher; D.8.C.R., Bro. Stevenson ; Secretary. Bro. Woodland ; Treasurer, Bro. Geddes: D.8., Bro. Crawford ; Auditor, Bro. John Wilson.—The salary of the Secretary was increased by Lls a year, and a silver medal and neck-ribbon voted to P.C.D.B. Wilson, for his pert earvices.
