IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in conformity with the Depasturing Regulations of the Otago Goldfield*, the Fourth ANNUAL ELECTION OF WABDENB TO* THK DEPASTURING DISTRICT or WAIITEP WILL M HXLD 05 TUESDAY, Ist or AUGUST ENSUING. The Board of Wardens for the District aforesaid will consist of nine Elective Members and a Chairman. REGULATIONS. 1. The Wakatip Depasturing District shall, far the purposes of this Election, be divided: And the Arrow Goldfield Division shall constitute one portion thereof, and the Queenstown Goldfield Division shall constitute the other portion thereof. 2. The Queenstown Division shallbe entitled to return five members, and the Arrow Division shall be entitled to return four members to said Board. 3. Nominations of Candidates must be fhade is writing, addressed to the Returning Officer, and lodged at the Court-hcnae, Queenstown* w esr before Wednesday, the 28th day of July install Noon ; and in the following Form, which mMfcfc*; signed in full by the proposer and every such Candidate:— (Place and date.) If more the requisite number of candidates are nominated for either Division a Poll shall take place on Tuesday, the Ist day of August proximo, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.; and the candidates in whose favor the greatest number of votes shall have been recorded at the said hour of 4 p.m. —or, in the event of there not being more than the requisite number, then the candidates nominated —shall, as soon thereafter as may be, be declared by the Returning Officer, or other officer appointed by him, to have been duly elected for the ensuing twelve months. 5. The Wardens shall be elected by th e votes of the freeholders and agricultural leaseholders, holders of miners rights, business licenses, and mining and mineral leases, resident in the District. 6. No person shall be entitled to be nominated, nor any person be entitled to nominate or to second the nomination of any candidate, unless he be possessed of one or other of the qualifications set forth and specified in previous Regulation. 7. If any person shall improperly be elected as a member of the Board of Wardens, he not being duly and lawfully possessed of the qualification aforesaid at the time of election, it shall be in the power of the Board, upon due enquiry into all the circumstances of the case, to declare by a majority of votes that such election is null and void, and thereupon an election shall be held when, where, and as may be determined by the Board, for filling up the deficiency caused by such declaration. 8. Voters must attend in person to record their votes within the Division wherein they possess the necessary qualification, and the document by virtue whereof they claim to vote must be produced to the Chief Returning Officer or presiding officer. 9. The names of all the candidates nominated ■ball be duly published, and also set forth in a Nones affixed to the front of the Courthouse in each of the aforesaid divisions.
