Black Sampson was imported from Victoria ; got by Mr Cochrane's horse Clyde, out of the imported mare Duchess, the property of Mr Chalmers, Gowrie Park. Clyde, the sire of Black Sampson, was sold in Victoria for £650. The above horse travelled through the district last season, and distinguished himself as a sure foal-getter.
