(from a correspondent.) The Nomination of Candidates for the Goldfields and Goldfields Towns took place on Monday, the 26th February, at the Court-house, Dunstan. About forty persons attended. Mr W. H. Robinson, the returning officer, read the hotice calling the meeting, and pointed ont the required qualifications. Mr Julius Vogel was nominated as a candidate for the Goldfields, by Mr Cope, seconded by a qualified holder of a miner's right. Mr Charles O'Neill was nominated as a candidate for the Goldfields by two miners. After the lapse of five minutes—the time allowed—during which several attempts were made to procure proposers and seconders for other gentlemen, but without avail,'the Returning Officer declared Mestrs Vogel and O'Neill duly elected. For the Goldfields Towns three candidates were nominated. Mr Manders—By Mr E Ryan and Dr Morrice Mr Main—By Mr Cope and Mr Hazlett. Mr Bradshaw—By Mr Marshall and Mr Connor. After a lapse of five minutes, the Returning Officer proceeded to take a show of hands, which resulted in favor of Mr Main. A poll was demanded by Mr Manders, after which two of the candidates addressed the meeting. Mr Main spoice at length, dwelling chiefly upon the value of pastorul lands, of the action the firm of Gardiner and Main had taken at Hyde with reference to the dairyman's cattle and the miner's cultivation plots, of the evil of Provihcial institutions, and the advantage of Separation. The candidate was well received. Mr Manders followed in a rapid speech. He was entirely opposed to the policy of the previous speaker, and he further challenged his opponent, Mr Main, to deny that he was one of those not interested in the deputation of squatters, when Mr Chalmers demanded £30,000 for his run, under the 28th clause of the Goldfields Act, 1865, if any of the agricultural leases were granted. He vindicated the Goldfields members from the censure that they had unknowingly or carelessly allowed clause 28 to be introduced into the Goldfields Act. This speaker was also well received. A tote of thanks to the Returning Officer closed the proceedings
