Mr Sidney Fairbaim, a member of the Travellers’ Club, has returned from an arduous journey in Central Africa and through Con fro and Uganda. After much, searching ho found pigmy land. The average height of the pigmies is forty-five inches, and'their houses are fifty-two inches high. He entered by crawling. The pigmies are much fairer_and lighter ooloured than the -average tribes. The men were beautifully made, the women massive, with tiny .'feet, and faces gnomelike. _ At "the outset they were scared, especially fcy tho camera. , Later they danced ail night long round a log fire. Mr Fairbaim travtelled a hundred miles, guided by savages with a system of signalling by tomtoms, sending elaborate messages by beating.
