A dispatch from Tientsin states that the Tientsin Government Mint has concluded a million dollars loan with the Sino-French Bank, under which the bank can purchase all bullion and take cha-rgo of the output of silver dollars and copper coins. It is understood that the funds supplied through the bank are Japanese. It is rumoured that- a largo part of the loan will be used bv the military and civil Governments of Chihili Province for election expenses and control of the new Parliament. Chinese bankers sent a protest to the Chinese Government, alleging that the Sino-French Bank's control of the mint's output would bo highly detrimental to native banking interests.
