THE NEW BUDGET. By Talegraph—Press Association —Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. TOKIO, December 26. The Minister of Finance announces the Budget Estimates, totalling au income of 1,250,001,000 yen ordinary, and 325,000,000 yon extraordinary. The expenditure is estimated to amount ‘to 1,562,000,000 yen. The Army expenditure totals 263,000,000 yen, au increase of 50,000,000 yen, and the Navy expenditure 493,000,000 yen, an increase of 52,000,000 yon. Other items correspond closely with the last Budget. The Minister, in presenting the figures to a. caucus of peers, said that every effort would be made to ensure frugality, while the greatest amounts possible within tho financial eoope of tho State would be allowed such enterprises as seemed most essential for the development of the national power. Tho Premier, addressing a, caucus of the Jjower House, said that in compiling tho Budget the Government’s guiding policy was to increase the national strength.
