MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS. The ex-Empress Eugenie left over £-:,UtJ(),000, the English estate totalling £121,611. The will enjoins the executors to prosecute any persons publishing her memoirs, and bequeaths valuable paintings by Greuze to Sir John Burgoyne, who brought her to England in the yacht Gazelle, when the Second Lmpire fell. A Tokio message states that it has been discovered that an attempt to ass. assinate M. Hara, the Premier, was planned for May 8 last, by an ex-artil-leryman named Ito, who, while about to cast a bomb, was accidentally knocked dojvn by a motor-car. Mr Andrew Fisher’s term as High Commissioner for Australia has been extended three months. He will be granted leave on full pay from January to April, during which time the Hon E. D. Millen will probably administer Australia House in the'capacity of resident Minister.
