THE NEW BONUS.
PROPOSED RECONSIDERATION B* COURT. Mr J. M’Combs, M.P., left for Wellington last night to attend, a conference of advocates in connection with the pro-' posed reconsideration of the cost-ot-living bonus of 9s per week recently f ranted by the Arbitration Court. Mr . Reardon will represent the Wellington Trades Unions and Mr T. Bloodworth will represent tho Auckland Industrial District. At the meeting of Trade Union representatives, at which Mr M’Combs was appointed to represent the Canterbury Industrial District, _it was decided that in the event of the Court agreeing to reopen tho case, application should lie made for a bonus to.. cover the full increase in the cost of living as provided in the Act instead of the average increase for the past six months as granted by the Court. It is contended that the , past _ three bonuses were not in accordance with the ascertained increases revealed by the Government Statistician, and that the last bonus should have been 15s instead of 9s.
